The last weeks of summer vacation including the Labor Day holiday weekend are a heavy travel time and period of increased drunk driving fatalities and injuries. That’s why thousands of state highway safety and law enforcement agencies across the nation are conducting a major drunk driving crackdown over the next few weeks. The national Impaired Driving Enforcement Crackdown, Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest, runs August 15 through September 1 and includes sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols.
The message of the crackdown, supported by an $11 million national advertising campaign, is clear: if you drive drunk – whether you drive a car, motorcycle, SUV or pickup – you will be arrested and prosecuted. For more information, visit StopImpairedDriving.org.
