Be aware that Thanksgiving is one of the most dangerous holidays for drivers.

As you gather with family and friends this long weekend, be aware that Thanksgiving is one of the most dangerous holidays for drivers. As you gather with family and friends, whether to express gratitude for the good things in life, to indulge in a delectable feast, to watch a parade or a football game, or all of the above, be aware that the four-day Thanksgiving weekend is a deadly timeframe for drunk driving.

MADD has these tips to help ensure everyone’s safety this Thanksgiving:
  • Designate a sober driver before celebrations begin.
  • Never serve those under the age of 21 alcohol.
  • Plan safe parties, including providing non-alcoholic drink options to guests and not serving alcohol the last hour of the gathering
  • Be prepared to get everyone home safe in case your plans or individual circumstances change
