MADD expresses its sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Ronald M. Davis, immediate past president of the American Medical Association, who spent his career as a public health crusader fighting to improve the lives of America’s youth and promoting healthier lifestyles for all.
As a premier leader in the Support 21 Coalition, a union of leading health and safety groups in support of the 21 Minimum Legal Drinking Age Law, Dr. Davis shared years of wisdom on the scientific evidence substantiating the dangers of underage drinking for those under 21. He took a firm stand against lowering the minimum drinking age, extolling its lifesaving and life-preserving virtues on the anniversary of the drinking age law this summer.
Dr. Davis’ leadership and wisdom will be sorely missed. MADD is honored to continue to work with current AMA leadership in support of 21.
