Like many charities, MADD has had to tighten its belt in the current tough economic climate. This has caused us to reduce staff positions by 13.8%, which included 23 positions in 11 states. Many of these tough decisions involved administrative staff in order to protect victim services and programs.

MADD’s volunteers are stepping up to cover key functions that staff once did. In Oregon, for example, MADD volunteers are seeking to raise funds to maintain services.  In Arkansas, volunteers will support our public policy efforts. MADD is delivering services in all 50 states and taking necessary steps to ensure MADD’s ability to do so is secure for many years to come. MADD continues to serve victims and survivors 24 hours, seven days a week at 877-MADD-HELP. Last year MADD provided victim services (grief counseling, criminal justice assistance, community referrals for financial needs) to more than 55,000 individuals and their families at no cost to them. We encourage everyone to visit www.madd.org and either donate or volunteer in order to help us serve victims/survivors and achieve safer roads free from drunk driving.
