Youth In Action

Interested in busting convenience store clerks for not checking IDs or asking adults to buy you beer—all with the help of the police? If you’re involved in MADD’s Youth In Action program, that’s just a couple of projects you would be working on. Youth In Action gets you involved in underage drinking prevention by focusing on reducing underage access to alcohol by targeting social and retail access, and working with law enforcement to support the enforcement of underage drinking laws. AlcoholEdu for High School is a Web-based course that incorporates proven prevention techniques with essential science-based alcohol education. Learn more


Protecting You/Protecting Me

You might be able to help keep alcohol out of your little brother or sister’s hands. MADD’s Protecting You/Protecting Me program is taught in elementary schools across the country. If you are enrolled in a for-credit, peer-helping or leadership course, you can help teach children in 1-5 grade about the latest brain research and how alcohol affects their growing brain. Social Host

Thinking about hosting a party where youth under 21 have access to alcohol? Think again. Social host liability refers to laws that hold individuals responsible for underage drinking events on property they own, lease or otherwise control. Unlike laws that prohibit furnishing alcohol to youth under 21, social host laws focus on preventing underage drinking on private property without regard to who furnishes the alcohol. Learn more

If someone you love died in a drunk driving crash or of alcohol poisoning or binge drinking, you may be feeling angry, powerless, frustrated and deeply sad. To take a stand, you have to get on your feet. And Walk Like MADD, our 5K walk is a fun and easy way to take a stand against underage drinking and impaired driving. In cities across the county, Walk Like MADD is an event you, your family and even your school can get involved in. Learn more
