Courtney Popp

Courtney Popp is one of two Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutors (“TSRP”) for the State of Washington.  In this role, Popp acts as a liaison between prosecutors, law enforcement, the judiciary, community groups, and other stakeholders in the fight against impaired driving.  She provides critical support and training to enhance the capability of Washington’s prosecutors and law enforcement in effectively enforcing and prosecuting the impaired driving laws of the State.  Popp serves as a Special Deputy with the Washington State Patrol’s Impaired Driving Section and is grant funded through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the National Association of Prosecutor Coordinators and the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.

Prior to becoming a Washington State TSRP, Popp was employed as a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney with the Clallam County Prosecutor’s Office, handling a complex felony caseload.  Her prosecution career began with the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office, where she first handled impaired driving crimes such as DUI.  A passion for that work led to her involvement as the Snohomish County DUI Task Force Prosecutor and instilled a lasting dedication to sharing her knowledge about combating DUI through teaching and community outreach.  Popp joined the MADD Board of Directors in 2011 and is thrilled for the opportunity to connect her legal knowledge with her commitment to ending impaired driving and supporting the many victims of this senseless crime.
