Mary KlotzbachMary Klotzbach became involved in MADD in 2002 after her son Matthew Thomas – home on leave from the United States Naval Acadamy – was killed by a drunk driver in July 2001 while driving home from an afternoon spent with Klotzbach and her husband Tom. Klotzbach was one of the original members of MADD Bay Area, and as such has spoken at high schools and community events. She has served as MADD California’s Public Policy Chair since Oct. 2008 and was instrumental in the passage of the law that started a pilot ignition interlock program in California’s four largest counties. Klotzbach has been a nurse for 30 years, working the last 23 in a San Francisco Bay Area Trauma Center. |
