Alcohol Still the Drug of Choice for Teens

Last month, the University of Michigan’s Monitoring the Future study showed good news – underage alcohol use is down across all age groups and measures.

However, the bad news is that even at these historically low levels of use, alcohol is still the drug of choice for teens: more than tobacco, more than marijuana, more than prescription drugs:


This is why alcohol kills more young people than all other drugs combined and why we remain focused on stopping alcohol use under the age of 21.
