MADD® Virgin Drinks
By MADD | June 25, 2014| 8 Comments | Filed in: Drunk Driving

MADD® Virgin Drinks, a full line of alcohol-free drinks, are now being sold exclusively at nearly 3,000 participating Walgreens stores across the U.S.

MADD® Virgin Drinks were conceived and developed by Hill Street Marketing Inc. to offer designated drivers and other adults an alcohol-free beverage option, while supporting Mothers Against Drunk Driving at the same time. Through a partnership with Walgreens, five percent of retail sales from MADD® Virgin Drinks will be donated to MADD for our ongoing efforts to stop drunk driving and support the victims of this completely preventable crime.

Although they are alcohol-free, MADD® Virgin Drinks will only be sold to adults 21 and older, as to not send a mixed message to those under 21.

Thank you to MADD® Virgin Drinks and Walgreens for supporting MADD’s efforts to eliminate drunk driving. For more information, visit

As people across the country make plans to celebrate the Fourth of July, MADD reminds adults to plan ahead for a non-drinking designated driver – whether on the road or on the water – if alcohol will be a part of the festivities. And we encourage party hosts to always offer alcohol-free beverages for non-drinking designated drivers and others who prefer not to drink alcohol.

I live the idea. And I like the name Virgin, it says no alcohol, I.e., Virgin Mary drink. Hope you will offer Chardonnay. Thanks.

Clearly this is profit before common sense. As someone who has lost a loved one to drunk driving I am appalled that MADD would encourage people to pretend to drink, its beyond confusing. What is the child that sat through one of your school speeches supposed to think when they see this next to the pepsi? I will never be able to support MADD ever again.

The idea is good, but the name "virgin" is unnecessary and has a negative impact on those choosing to buy and drink them. Just what is wrong with already available sparkling juice drinks that have no alocohol or relation to alcohol?

I think that MADD is sending a mixed message by putting their logo on these drinks.

These ideally would be useful as conducting a psychological science experiment which the varibles are the severeity of a persons addiction and the frequency at which they seek a drink. How this would work is a bottle of MADD Virgin (r) would be used at the prime trigger variable of the experiment and the test subject which would be the person with the addiction problem would be in a room with a table and the bottle on the table, the two main test factors are how tempted they are and how frequent they crave a drink. The ideal time frame for this experiment should last at least a week. Using the MADD Virgin (r) alcohol to conduct an expeirement like this makes this a risk-free experiment and is %99.999 likely to help reverse addiction without any health risks and could also be an effective detoxification therapy.
