Red Ribbon Kick-Off

Since 1986, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) has used the red ribbon as a public awareness program to caution drivers to travel safe and sober during the deadly holiday season. Here in Pima County, the “Tie One On For Safety” campaign is our biggest public awareness event of the year. 

When:     December 5, 2007 - January 1, 2008

Why:        Now is not the time for complacency. In 2006, more than 17,000 people were killed in alcohol-related traffic crashes across America and it is estimated that an additional 513,000, or approximately 59 people an hour, are injured in impaired driving crashes keeping drunk driving as the most frequently committed violent crime in America today.
