First Annual Walk Like MADD 5K

The MADD National Office has chosen Tampa  to be one of its 6 spotlighted cities for the rebranding of the event formerly known as Strides for Change – now known as Walk Like MADD.    A focus group determined that the old name was not identifiable to MADD and the new Walk Like MADD is generating a lot of buzz.

The objective is three-fold – to fundraise, friend-raise and build awareness.  Tampa  ’s Walk Like MADD 5K non-competitive walk  will be held on June 28, 2008, 7:00 – 11:00 AM at the Lowry Park Zoo, 1101 W. Sligh Ave in Tampa .  Bright House Networks has promised substantial airtime to promote the event.

Fundraising is through both Sponsorships and walkers.  Walkers register teams by going to www.walklikemadd.org, click “select a city”, then click “Tampa  ”.

An important component to this walk is the ability to be a “virtual walker”.  One doesn’t have to be physically present to participate or contribute.  We hope you’ll join us, in body and/or spirit on June 28th for our First Annual Walk Like MADD 5K.
