Victim's Assistance Page
One of the primary goals of MADD is to provide services to victims who have been injured in impaired driving crashes and to families whose loved ones have been killed or injured as a result of these crashes.
If you are coping with the trauma of an impaired driving crash, we can offer:
-
Victim Assistance: If you need help, please contact one of our
victim advocates.
-
Grief Support. For injured and surviving victims, this is a time to share with others. You may think that coming to grips emotionally with the serious injury or killing of your loved one is your sole task. Unfortunately, it is not.
-
Legal Advocacy. Most victim families find the detachment of the criminal justice system personnel extremely frustrating. If the driver of the vehicle responsible for the crash survived, you are also now thrust into the criminal justice system, which few people learn about until they have to.
All MADD Services are FREE. MADD offers a variety of pamphlets that deal with bereavement, financial issues, and other issues that can occur as a result of a drunk driving crash. Please read the associated documents regarding Guidelines for Victims, Understanding Grief, and development of a Victim Impact Statement from the "Learn More..."box above.
Be aware that you do have rights!.
Contact the MADD Chapter nearest you or contact Kristen Allen, Florida State Victims Services Coordinator at kristen.allen@madd.org ,call her at (850) 681-0061 between 8-5, or call the toll free Victims Line at 1-800-772-MADD
