Our chapter participates in the national "Tie One On For Safety" campaign each year during the holidays.  We also participate on the Victim Impact Panel and conduct regular underage drinking presentations in our local schools.

Tie One On For Safety:  History
MADD created the Tie One On For Safety campaign, which was originally named the 'Project Red Ribbon' campaign, in 1986 to help heighten public attention to drinking and driving during the holiday season.  The program was designed to encourage the public to become actively involved in the fight against drunk driving by tying a MADD ribbon to a visible place on their vehicle, such as the antenna or side mirror.  You can find out more information on the MADD National website or click HERE to be taken directly to that page.  Also there is a link on that page titled Be a responsible party host during the holiday season that everyone should visit.

See our January 2004, Newsletter under the "News" link for more information on our local efforts with this campaign.  Remember you will need Adobe® Reader® to view the newsletters.
