ADULT AWARENESS
MADD's adult awareness programs comprise a major portion of our commitment to stopping impaired driving. Here you can learn about some of our most well-known campaigns such as 'Tie One On for Safety' and Victim Impact Panels.
TIE ONE ON FOR SAFETY
One of MADD's longest running and most widely known awareness campaigns. The campaign, conducted throughout the year, with special emphasis placed during the Holiday Season from Thanksgiving through New Years Day, asks motorists to tie a red MADD ribbon on to a visible place on their vehicle, such as the antenna or side mirror. To obtain a red ribbon, contact the state office at 1-800-247-6233.
VICTIM/Impaired Driving IMPACT PANELS
A victim impact/Impaired Driving panel is a forum that allows drunk driving offenders to come face to face with those who have lost loved ones due to DUI/DWI. The panel consists of three to four victims and/or remorseful offenders who speak briefly about an impaired driving crash in which they were injured or a loved one was killed. The panelists talk about how the crashes have impacted their lives.
