Volunteer! ...Volunteer! Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. Volunteer opportunities range from clipping articles out of local newspapers to speaking at our Victim Impact Panels to representing MADD Chesapeake at community functions. If you are interested, please contact us at 1(800) 446-MADD. Current Volunteer Opportunities: There are many ways in which you can support MADD. The following are several ways in which you can volunteer with us and make a difference in your community.
· Court Monitoring: As a volunteer court monitor, you will attend court cases and record data and report back to our Court Monitoring Program Specialist · Victim Services: Be an Advocate! MADD offers free victim services to victims of drunk driving crashes. Maryland has trained volunteer victim advocates across the state to offer support and guidance to victims and their families. · Victim Impact Panels: You can volunteer to help with registration at Victim Impact Panels (VIP) or even become a volunteer speaker yourself. DUI and DWI offenders are required to attend VIPs in which individuals’ share how their lives have been impacted by drunk driving. · Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving: At the local level, there are several programs you can become involved in that will support MADD’s CEDD: Ø Support local law enforcement by attending sobriety checkpoints or role-call briefings and let the officers know about MADD and our appreciation of their efforts. Ø Participate in our Speaker’s Bureau training and speak at local events and meetings about MADD, our Victim Services and the CEDD. Ø A Youth In Action (YIA) group is a group of youth in the community that works along with an adult coordinator to raise awareness of underage drinking.
Additionally, there are special events and meetings that may be of interest to you. Here at MADD, we welcome your support and look forward to working with you to continue our mission!
