Idiot on Board

Tie One on For Safety - asks motorists to tie a red ribbon to their vehicles as a pledge to drive safe and sober and as a reminder to others to do the same.

Victim Impact Panels - a forum that allows drunk driving offenders to come face to face with those who have had a loved one injured or killed because of a DUI or DWI.   The panel consists of victims who speak about an impaired driving crash that has changed their lives.

Youth In Action - looks at the whole environment that seems to condone underage drinking.  YIA is a community based partnership with concerned young people to combat underage drinking.  Contact madd.mdyouth@verizon.net for more information.

Sobriety Checkpoints - one of the most effective law enforcement tools in preventing impaired driving. Well publicized sobriety checkpoint programs not only allow law enforcement officials to identify the impaired driver, but for the general public, the perceived risk of arrest serves as a deterrent to drinking and driving.

Court Monitoring - is a volunteer program to observe what happens to DUI/DWI offenders in our judicial system.  According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, court monitoring of DUI/DWI cases by volunteer citizen groups can be effective in increasing the likelihood of convictions, decreasing the likelihood of dismissals and, in repeat offender cases, increasing the length of jail sentences.
