Our local event is being held in Baltimore's Inner Harbor on Saturday, June 7, 2008.  Come and join us and make a difference!

Ten Rules For Safe Riding

If you ever have to ride in a car with someone who's been drinking alcohol, here are ten tips kids can do to make the trip safer:

  1. Sit in the back seat.
  2. Sit in the middle of the back seat if you are alone.
  3. If there is more than 1 child, the smallest child should sit in the middle, between the two larger kids.
  4. Put your coat, jacket or sweater on if you have one.
  5. Take everything off the seat and the back of the window shelf and put it on the floor under your seat.
  6. BUCKLE UP your seat belt real tight.
  7. Lean back against your seat.
  8. Be quiet; and try not to distract the driver.
  9. If you are asked to sit in the front seat, say, "No thanks, the back seat is the safest place for kids," or "I know you want me to be safe, so I'll stay back here."
  10. Tell a trusted adult immediately about the unsafe ride.
