CHECKPOINT SUPPORT MADD Delaware is proud to support the Delaware Office of Highway Safety and the Law Enforcement Community for the annual Checkpoint Strikeforce Campaign. Checkpoint Strikeforce is high-profile DUI enforcement through saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints, occurring each weekend beginning June 27, 2008 and concluding January 1, 2009.
MADD would like to invite you to participate in DUI checkpoints as a MADD volunteer. Last year, our volunteers supported over 25 checkpoints by counting cars, keeping statistics, and handing out red ribbons. In return for volunteering a few hours of your time, you will see how police officers check for sobriety, and ultimately save lives by taking intoxicated drivers off of the road.
Checkpoints are held in all counties. If you would like participate and support a DUI checkpoint, we can coordinate a location that is close to your home. Many checkpoints take place between the hours of 11 pm- 3 am, although hours vary with location. For more information, you may contact us directly at 302-853-6233.
