North Carolina Victim Impact Panels

The following Victim Impact Panels are held in the state of North Carolina: 2009 Calendar Year

Victim Impact Panels (VIP classes): give victims & survivors of drunk driving crashes an opportunity to share their story with DWI offenders. As part of their probation, first- and second- time  DWI offenders, are mandated in many jurisdictions to hear the poignant stories of those whose lives have been permanently affected by an impaired driver. MADD VIP's are certified to ensure that the purpose of the panels (to individualize and humanize the consequences of impaired driving, to change attitudes and behaviors, and to deter impaired driving recidivism-)stays true. If you're interested in starting a VIP in your town contact the state office today.

Wake County VIP: Please call 1st Step Services, LLC at 919-833-8899 (Raleigh Office) for more information and to pre-register.  Victim Impact Panels are typically held in Wake County at least once a month.  A fee of $50 applies .

Durham County VIP: Last Monday, (except holidays ) . 6:30 p.m., Durham County Courthouse. (Coordinated through the new Durham County Courthouse on the 6th Floor) 201 E. Main St., Durham NC 27701.  A fee of $35 cash/money order, only, applies . NO CHECKS! ***December 21st class will be held, because of the holiday***

Orange County VIP: First Monday, (except holidays) monthly.  6 PM  Resistration starts at 5:30PM . Orange County Court house on 2nd floor.  106 E. Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, NC  27278.  A fee of $25 cash/money order,only , applies. NO CHECKS!  Because of the holiday, class will be cancelled and be held Oct. 5th.

Union County VIP: First Monday, (except holidays) monthly. 6:30PM Registration starts at 6:00PM. Union County Court house in Juror Selection Room. 400 North Main St., Monroe, NC  28111. A fee of $25 cash/money order, only, applies.NO CHECKS!  Because of the holiday, class will be held on the 14th of September instead of the 7th.

Guilford County MADD VIP - Second Tuesday, (except holidays), monthly, 6:30 p.m., Guilford County Courthouse, Room 4C, 201 S. Eugene St. Greensboro, NC  27402    click here for  2009 schedule

Randolph County MADD Southern Triad VIP - *Fourth Thursday*, (except holidays) monthly, 6:30 p.m., Randolph County Courthouse, Room 1A, 176 East Salisbury St., Asheboro, NC 27203 **Because of Thanksgiving Holiday class will be held on November 19th

Carteret County VIP (Morehead City, NC): Victim Impact Panels held as needed. Next class is  December 4th  at the Morehead City Police Department.  202 S. 8th St., Morehead City, NC  28557.  Class will be upstairs in the Commissioners Board room.

Please call Jennifer at 252-225-4721 to pre-register and for more information. Prior registration is required.   A fee of $35 is due at the time of registration or upon arriving at the Victim Impact Panel.  Cash or Money Orders only, please.  No checks will be accepted.
