Internships
MADD North Carolina has the following internship positions available: Youth Coordinator Intern General Description: This position will assist the State Office in coordinating all youth programming activities, including recruiting youths from local communities and statewide, assisting with the implementation of Youth In Action (YIA) teams to raise public awareness about underage drinking and assisting in the dissemination of underage drinking materials. Will also work with law enforcement officials to plan and engage youths in public awareness activities. Compensation: This is a part-time unpaid internship. Hours: Flexible. 5-25 hours per week. Hours may fluctuate depending on the intern's availability. Position Qualifications: Open to all sophomore level or above undergraduate students and graduate students. This position may be of interest to students with majors in Education, Social Science, Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Alcohol/Substance Abuse Counseling. General Office Intern General Description: This position will assist the State Office with various programming and fundraising efforts, as well as special event planning. Duties may include contacting volunteers and sponsors, as well as dissemination of program materials. Compensation: This is a part-time unpaid internship. Hours: Flexible. 5-25 hours per week. Hours may fluctuate depending on the intern's availability. Position Qualifications: Open to all sophomore level or above undergraduate students and graduate students. This position may be of interest to students with majors in Business, Political Science, Education, Social Science, Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Alcohol/Substance Abuse Counseling. Marketing/Public Relations Intern General Description : This position will assist the state offfice in coordinating our marketing and public relations programs. It will assist us in implementing our PR efforts through working with local and statewide media, schools, law enforcement and community partners. This position will also assist us in marketing our programs, core events, assisting with newsletter writing and production. Compensation: This is a part-time unpaid internship. Hours: Flexible. 5-25 hours per week. Hours may fluctuate depending on the intern's availability. Position Qualification: Open to all sophomore level or above undergraduate students and graduate students. This position may be of interest to students with majors in Communications, Marketing and Public Relations. Public Policy/Legislative Intern General Description : This position will assist the state office in coordinating the public policy and lobbying efforts locally and statewide. It will assist us in the community with local and state lawmakers about our efforts and help to identify additional concerns. Compensation: This is a part-time unpaid internship. Hours: Flexible. 5-25 hours per week. Hours may fluctuate depending on the intern's availability. Position Qualifications: Open to all sophomore level or above undergraduate students and graduate students. This position may be of interest to students with majors in Education, Social Science, Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Political Science. Victim Services Intern General Description: This position will assist the Victim Services Coordinator or MADD volunteer victim advocates at the MADD NC state office in coordinating various victim services projects. We offer direct services to victims/survivors of impaired driving crashes including empathetic listening and support, guidence through the criminal justice system, and information and assistance with referrals. Compensation: This is a part-time unpaid internship Hours: Flexible. 5-25 hours per week. Hours may fluctuate depending on the intern's availability. Position Qualifications: Open to sophomore level or above undergraduate students and graduate students. This position may be of interest to students with majors in any Social Science or Criminal Justice.
