TIE ONE ON FOR SAFETY CAMPAIGN

Runs from Thanksgiving to New Years, the heaviest travel season of the year and a time when drunk driving typically increases.

With a plea to “Tie one on….for safety” MADD asks Holiday drivers to tie a red ribbon to a visible location on their vehicles.  The ribbon is a symbol of the motorist’s pledge to drive safe, sober and buckle up and it reminds others to do the same.

The TIE ONE ON FOR SAFETY Red Ribbon Campaign started in 1986 and is MADD’s largest public awareness program.  More than 6 million ribbons are distributed annually.

For a red ribbon, please call your local MADD Chapter at 1-877-721-6233 or just walk in to your local law enforcement agency.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol maintains a toll free number for reporting suspected drunk drivers: 1-800-GRAB DUI (1-800-472-2384) or a free cellular phone call at *DUI (*384). If you suspect someone of being an impaired driver then please utilize this service to help our law enforcement officers to get them off the streets.
