It's not for medals won with pride, MADD South Carolina would like to thank all of our wonderful volunteers throughout the state who give of their time to help MADD accomplish our mission to stop Drunk Driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking. Without you our organization could not function. Thanks so much! VOLUNTEERS MADD SC offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for you to get involved. We welcome volunteers who are committed to carrying out our mission -- making our streets and communities a safer place to live. MADD SC is seeking dedicated leaders to help us expand and reach out to more communities. Here Is How YOU Can Get Involved: Advocate For Change MADD SC activists are working to strengthen existing laws and to enact new ones. Learn more about how to influence legislation and law enforcement at national, state, and local levels. Lend A Shoulder Become trained to provide emotional support to victims of alcohol-related traffic crashes and to guide victims through the criminal justice system. Help A Victim Be Heard Coordinate Victim Impact Panels by conducting Victim Impact Panels in your community to help rehabilitate the drunk driving offender. Drop A Line "We Care Cards" are sent to our victims. Special Thank You Cards are sent to those that give Memorial Gifts remembering those killed by drunk drivers. Write an editorial about your concerns over highway safety issues. Visit Your Favorite Restaurant Work with local restuarants and drinking establishments to use "Designate A Driver" programs to keep patrons safe. Utilize Your Office Skills Answer telephones, file, copy, type or perform other office duties. Take The Lead Lend your leadership skills as a community action team coordinator or a chapter, state or national officer. Visit The Courts (Courtroom Monitoring) Ensure that drunk driving offenders are punished to the fullest extent of the law by monitoring court cases and reporting outcomes to the community and media. Roll Up Your Sleeves Join MADD SC members in hosting public awareness events such as mock-crashes, parades, fairs, safe proms and graduation events. Tie One On Distribute MADD red ribbons to encourage people not to drink and drive. Tie a MADD red ribbon on your vehicle to show your commitment to drive safe and sober. Build A Team Coordinate a team of young people to create change at the local level. We are losing more young people daily due to underage drinking. Step up and say I don't want to see anymore teenagers killed. Get smart, don't drink and do drugs ~ be the leader in setting the example! Speak Out Present facts and solutions for drunk driving and underage drinking by speaking at schools, civic groups, organizations and clubs. BECOME A MEMBER TODAY!
