Mothers Against Drunk Driving asks everyone to participate
in Food Lion's LionShop & Share program!

In order to have the MADD state office linked, we must have 25 members sign up their card.  Please tell all your friends.  You can call 704-633-8250 or email Theresa Little your MVP number, name and address.  Once we have 25 linked, it will be available to link online.  So, please tell all your friends and family members who have a Food Lion in their community to enroll and shop!

LionShop & Share is an easy, convenient way to raise money for your local Mothers Against Drunk Driving chapter or South Carolina State Office.  Each time you shop at Food Lion, have the cashier scan your MVP card and a portion of your total grocery purchase will be donated to MADD.

How do I register my MVP card to support my MADD chapter?

It really simple!  To register, call Food Lion's Customer Service line at (704) 633-8250 ext. 3810, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 8:00 pm ET. or  Link Online   All you need is the members' Food Lion MVP 12-digit number, name, and address.

* Don't forget, all chapters and MVP cardholders must re-link annually (in the fall) to participate in the next year's LionShop & Share program.

* Also, if you lose/damage your MVP card and a new card is issued, you will need to link your new card number to your supporting organization via the website.

How much money can my MADD chapter earn?

At the end of each quarter, Food Lion will divide the Funds proportionally among the LionShop & Share organizations depending on their total accumulated sales.  Checks are sent to the LionShop & Share organizations approximately six weeks after the quarter ends.  In order to receive a check in any quarter, your MADD chapter must earn at least $10 during that quarter.  A check will be issued once the ten dollar threshold has been reached the following quarters.  There will be a cap of $350 per organization per quarter.  Each quarter runs as follows:

Jan 1 - Mar 3       /       Apr 1 - Jun 30       /       Jul 1 - Sept 30       /       Oct 1 - Dec 31

SUPPORT MADD BY PURCHASING MUSIC

MADD SC is pleased to announce a new way in which you can support our mission here in South Carolina.  David Bell, a Richland County Sheriff's Department officer, has re-released two recordings on a CD entitled The Best of Lost Gold 45s Volume Two.  The two songs entitled The Drunk Driver and The Badge raise awareness to the risks police officers take every day in the line of duty.

The royalties from the sale of the albums will be distributed between MADD, the National Police Officer Memorial Fund and the South Carolina Police Officer Memorial Fund.  Lost Gold Entertainment released the songs in April 2005 and the catalog was purchased by Wal-Mart.  The songs have been placed on Walmart's website (www.walmart.com ) for purchase and download.

So please, pass along the word to your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.  It only costs $0.88 to download a song from walmart.com.  Every person who purchases these songs will be helping to raise awareness about the dangers of drunk driving to law enforcement and all of the citizens across our nation.
