VICTIM IMPACT PANEL   -  Court-ordered panel for DWI offenders                   
                              
The purpose of the program is not to judge, but to give first-time DWI offenders a personal experience through hearing from victims whose lives have been changed forever by a drunk driver, to create an empathy and understanding of the tragedy of DWI, to leave an impression that will change the thinking and the behavior, and prevent future DWIs from occurring .

This program is held on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Wednesday of each month.  If there is a 5th Wednesday in any month, an additional panel will be held on that day as well.

**Panel dates during the holidays:  In November 2009, panels will be held on the 4th, 11th and 18th.  In December 2009, panels will be held on the 2nd, 9th and 16th. 

There is no pre-registration.  Seating is limited.  Attendance is first come first served. The location is 509 W. 11th (Blackwell Thurman Bldg., 9th floor, 331st Court).   Arrive no later than 6:00 PM (earlier is recommended) to be in line when sign-in and pay begins. Attendees form a line in the courtyard outside the building.  After the doors close there is no admittance.

Bring a photo ID such as a drivers' license (Probation ID, Social Security card or Birth Certificate can substitute).  The cost is $15.00 cash or money order ONLY. Come dressed in respectful attire, no cell phones or texting allowed - inappropriate conduct will result in ejection and no completion.
Keep your receipt/certificate for your records - it is the proof of your attendance for the court and/or probation requirement.

El espacio esta limitado y los primeros que lleguen serán asistidos. La matricula comienza a las 6:00 de la tarde. La clase de DDP comienza a las 7:00 de la tarde.  El costo por la clase es $15.00 solamente se aceptara giro postal, efectivo, o giro bancario.

Traiga una identificación puede ser (licencia de manejar, una foto de identificación de DPS, o lugar de su trabajo, tarjeta de seguro social, o certificado de nacimiento). Venga con vestuario apropiado, y no traiga su teléfono celular (ningunas llamadas telefónicas o mensajera de texto se permite durante de clase). Conducta inapropiada puede resultar que usted sea expulsado de la clase. 
Mantenga su recibo y certificado cuando salga de la clase. Esto será su prueba que atendió la clase y será revisado por la oficina de tribunal y la oficina de libertad condicional.
