The Safer Way To Get Home.              taxi
TaxiCard.
Sometimes one phone call is all that separates safety from tragedy.
Calling a taxi can prevent an enjoyable evening from ending in a serious car crash. It's the responsible choice. A safe and sober ride avoids the alcohol-related fatalities and injuries that change lives forever. That's why TaxiCard® is joining with MADD to help eliminate drunk driving.

TaxiCard, created by MJM Innovations, is a reloadable prepaid gift/debit card that can be used to pay for taxi, sedan, or limousine services. In a effort to eliminate drunk driving, TaxiCard will be donating a portion of the proceeds from its MADD affiliated card to MADD.

How TaxiCard Works:  When drinking is involved, TaxiCard is a much safer choice than reaching for car keys. TaxiCard is simple to use because it eliminates the the need to carry cash.  It can be used for any cab service that accepts Discover Network Cards. Consumers may purchase, manage and add value to TaxiCard online at www.taxicard.com.  A secure logon enables users to track transaction, access real-time reporting and billing.

FAQ's:
Am I drinking safely? Will alcohol cause problems for me later? Is drinking harming my health now? Among people who drink alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, or liquor), most consume safe and healthy amounts. For others, unsafe drinking patterns increase their risk for injury, illness or future alcohol problems.  If you consume alcoholic beverages, it's important to know whether your drinking patterns are safe, risky or harmful. This site can help you find out.

Special Notice to MADD supporters RE: The petition circulating via e-mail accompanied with the poem titled "I Went to a Party Mom" did not originate with nor is it endorsed by MADD.
We have a FAQ about this at : http://www.madd.org/madd_programs/0,1056,1218,00.html
While the petition you received probably began with good intentions, MADD did not initiate the campaign. Some variations of the e-mail use language that we feel to be inappropriate. Moreover, the e-mail asked you to act in a manner that does little to advance the fight against drunk driving.
