Programs for Youth MADD's Youth Program for underage drinking offenses MADD Central Texas/State Office offers state-certified
Alcohol Education Courses for Minor In Possession/Minor in Consumption Classes are six hours, split into 2 nights in two 3-hour sessions. You must attend both sessions consecutively to get credit.
Class fee is $50, due before the first session begins, you must pre-register.
Experienced staff use our resources to make the sessions engaging and informative, fulfilling the state and court mandated requirements for minors with a non-driving related alcohol violation.

May 10th and 12th You must pre-register! Classes are first-come, first-serve and are from 6:00 - 9:00 pm

Launch of New Web Site Dedicated to 21 Law (click on links) In an effort to publicize the research supporting MADD’s stance in the national debate on the 21 Minimum Drinking Age, MADD has launched the new Web site “Why 21?” at www.why21.org. The site provides all the facts, statistics and studies that support the law, its effectiveness and the undeniable truth that it saves lives. The site also offers information on how alcohol affects the teen brain, the realities of underage drinking, facts to common myths and a history of the drinking age law. There are also resources and tips for parents, educators and communities on preventing underage drinking.

If you are a high school student and would like to be actively involved in addressing policy and enforcement efforts to prevent underage drinking, then Youth In Action is for you! Check it out at www.youthinaction.org. If you're interested in starting Youth In Action in your area, please call the State Office at (800) 777-6233 for information about grant money that may be available for your area in Fall 2007. The application deadline has been extended.
Protecting You/Protecting Me (PYPM) is an alcohol use prevention curriculum for students in grades 1-5. It has been designated a Model Program by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP). As you well know, alcohol and underage drinking are significant issues in our lives and in the lives of our family and friends. For this reason, many high schools throughout the country are using AlcoholEdu for High School, an online program designed to educate students about alcohol and its effects on the mind and body. AlcoholEdu for High School aims not to preach or lecture but rather to empower students to make well-informed decisions and better cope with the drinking behavior of their peers. The program's online format provides a confidential, personalized experience for each student.
