MADD East Texas’s 5th annual “Tie One On For Safety” event kicks-off the 2009 holiday campaign, reminding East Texans that the key to a safer holiday is to drive sober and buckled up.  Last year, over 250 people joined our staff and volunteers  at this community-wide event.  We are expecting an even greater turnout this year.  

In  the past, MADD East Texas has hosted distinguished speakers and honorees like Miss America 2006, Jennifer Berry, United States Representative Louie Gohmert, Dr. David Lakey, Commissioner of Texas Department of State Health Services, and Texas State Representative Leo Berman.  Just last year, we welcomed MADD’s National President, Mrs. Laura-Dean Mooney. 

Retired Judge Cynthia Stevens Kent is this year’s keynote speaker, and Judge William Jennings and Dr. Paul McGaHa are honorees.
