In 2009, MADD successfully advocated for Leandra's Law. The law makes it a felony to drive drunk with a child passenger in a vehicle. Effective in August 2010 as a result of Leandra's Law, ignition interlocks are required for all convicted drunk drivers. Expect reductions in drunk driving deaths as the implementation of the interlock program improves.
