Nationwide

MADD thanks Nationwide Insurance for their generous support of MADD’s mission. MADD and Nationwide joined forces to launch MADD’s first-ever, year-round underage drinking prevention program, THINK!, for high school students.  THINK! is a peer-to-peer pledge campaign featuring consistent, positive and lifesaving messages. This awareness campaign is crucial because young people today receive so many inconsistent messages about alcohol from friends, siblings and even parents. Alcohol is the No. 1 drug problem among youth killing more young people than all other illicit drugs combined. More than 6,000 young people die each year due to alcohol-related causes including traffic crashes.

Nationwide Insurance is also a contributing sponsor of the MADD Media Awards held in conjunction with the MADD National Conference as well as presenting sponsor for the MADD 24/7 Virtual Newsroom. Nationwide also supports MADD’s diversity efforts.

Nationwide began their Prom Promise program in the 1990s to encourage youth to keep away from alcohol and drugs during their teen years, especially on prom night. Nationwide retired that program to build a new year-round youth awareness campaign, THINK!, with MADD. The year-round program launched in 2006 with THINK.Homecoming.
