Golden Shield Honors / Law Enforcement Recognition Banquent March 28, 2013
The 9th Annual Golden Shield Honors is our way of saying “thank you” for all you do to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime, and prevent underage drinking. Nominations are accepted through February 2013 to recognize law enforcement agencies, officers, and individuals in the community who make a difference. Honorees also have the option to dedicate their award to a victim of drunk driving that has touched their lives (family, friend, co-worker, or other) under “Victim Dedication” on the application.
Candlelight Vigil April 20, 2013
Each year, MADD provides a voice for the victims and families impacted by drunk driving at its annual Candlelight Vigil. The Vigil provides a forum for bereaved people, injured crash survivors, and their caregivers to reflect, share, comfort and be comforted. Victims and survivors of impaired driving crashes light a candle and recite the name of the person they pay tribute to as well as get to share what they remember about them and what gives them hope. A slideshow presentation depicts photographs of those killed and injured on local roadways. For more vigil information, click here. To have your loved ones photo included on the memorial/tribute board, please email cynthia.hagain@madd.org
