We are seeking volunteers in each community to stay in contact with local first responders, hospitals, and funeral homes in order to direct them to use MADD victim services.

Law Enforcement Appreciation – Dallas County
High visibility Law Enforcement is the greatest deterrent to drunk drivers. We need to offer support and appreciation for all that officers do to keep our roads safe. This is a fun and rewarding way to volunteer with MADD. You will go to roll call or shift briefings as officers report for work. You just thank them for what they do for your community. Bring your kids or some scouts. It is a great way to start talking to your kids about drinking and driving and its dangers. Most of the officers go out for 12 hour shifts. You can bring store bought individually wrapped snacks for them to take along. They are always happy to see how much their community appreciates them. For more information, contact Cathy Quaid at 214-637-0372 ext. 4828 or at cathy.quaid@madd.org.

Volunteer Victim Advocate
Victim advocates provide support to victims/survivors in the areas of emotional support, resources and referrals, support with the judicial process, and help insure their rights. Help staff advocates plan and facilitate groups. Victim Advocate volunteers must attend a 3-day Victim Assistance Training Institute (VATI) intensive training to be eligible to work with victims directly.
