Honoring Light Love & Hope

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week

MADD National Candlelight Tribute

The candle in their name is proof of the light and love each person named here still brings to our world every day.

Each of these candles represents someone whose life has been taken or affected by drunk or drugged driving. These are siblings, sons, daughters, parents, partners and friends from across the country.

Several times a year, MADD hosts a special online candlelight tribute to virtually light candles and share thoughts and stories to honor and remember those impacted by impaired driving crashes. The 2023 National Candlelight Tribute was an amazing success with so many of you sharing – if you had been a part of that tribute, thank you – your words and efforts bring awareness and support in a way that is so very special. Even though that event is over – we plan to host our next online candlelight vigil during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week which will take place starting April 21-27th 2024. We hope that you come back to this page during that time to activate around this special feature.

If you are looking to create an online tribute that will be live all year round, please visit our Victim/Survivor Tributes and Memorials page found below:

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) is a time to come together to acknowledge and honor each of the lives impacted by substance-impaired driving crashes. This year NCVRW falls on April 21-27, 2024 – which is also National Volunteer Week. With the theme of: “How would you help? Options, services, and hope for crime survivors.” We both honor those impacted and thank and acknowledge the volunteers both victims and non-victims alike who are Making MADD Moments and making a difference. Our amazing volunteers come together with tireless support and lasting impact to not only reach our ultimate goal of No More Victims but to also support those who have already been impacted by these crimes.

As we focus on NCVRW this year- please consider lighting a candle and sharing your impact for our special candlelight tribute. You can share this with others through social media to spread the message, thank you for being a part of MADD:
