Our father was driving home from work on the evening of 11/19/92 when a drunk driver crossed over the yellow line and hit my father’s car head-on. Our father lapsed into a coma while being transported via helicopter to MD Shock Trauma.
The drunk driver did not suffer any injuries and was a 3 time repeat offender. The shock to our father’s body caused him to suffer a heart attack, while in a coma, and over the course of 6 days his body shut down and he died on 11/25/92…the night before Thanksgiving, at 11:50pm. We buried our father the day before his 61st birthday. Our father was a senior research scientist at the National Institute of Mental Health where he worked for 35 years. We miss him every day!
