In Honor of…Jeremy Cockrell

My son, only child Jeremy Cockrell was killed on November 15, 2014 by a repeat offender & also a ex-police officer. Jeremy was twenty-seven years old at the time. Jeremy & his friend had stopped by my house to see me & was on his way to see his cousin. But, they never made it to the cousins house because the drunk driver come over in his lane & hit them head on. They say Jeremy was killed instantly, but I guess I will never know. The drunk driver also injured Jeremy’s friend that was still with him. This drunk driver that took it upon himself to drink & get behind the wheel & drive took the only thing i had left. Because my husband, Jeremy’s dad died in November of 2012. So with the drunk driver making such a bad choice he took my entire family as I knew it from me.
I know my life will never be the same without my son in it. But I thank God everyday for the special people of MADD that has stepped up & taken my hand & has guided me & showed me how to try & move forward!!!
