My son Officer Noah Leotta understood the deadly consequences of impaired driving and volunteered for the MCPD Holiday Alcohol Task Force. On the night of 12/3/15 he pulled over a suspected impaired driver and when he was out of his vehicle he was struck by a 3 time offender drunk and drugged driver. Noah died from his injuries 7 days later on 12/10/15. This tragedy inspired the state of Maryland to pass Noah’s Law which requires interlocking devices to be installed in the vehicles of all convicted impaired drivers for a period of time. Officer Noah Leotta is still on patrol saving lives with the passage of Noah’s Law.
