North Texas Virtual Walk Like MADD

Due to the current climate, this year’s walk will look a little different. Safety is our first concern and although the fight against drunk driving doesn’t cease we have had to adjust to our new normal. Don’t let our moment today stop with the virtual walk.  Drunk driving won’t stop unless we all make a commitment to do everything we can to put an end to this preventable crime.

MADD has a tradition to honor those who cannot walk beside us today.  Today, we will walk for those who no longer can and with those who are learning to walk again.  We will walk to empower those who may feel powerless and victimized.  We will walk to finish the job that was started by a grieving mother in 1980.She experienced a loss many of you know all too well.  A preventable loss that forever binds us together.  We want you to know that you are not alone.

Even though we can’t all be together, we will still walk for the victims and survivors of this violent crime. Join us today for opening ceremony live on Facebook at 10:30 AM. Walk kick off is at 11 AM.

Stay connected with us through our social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram and use the hashtag #whywalktexas we will share your photos, stories and videos throughout the day. So, tell us why you walk!

Even during this pandemic, Walk Like MADD events are still taking place across the U.S., though most are virtual.  Each event may look different but they all have one thing in common – bringing victims, survivors, friends, coworkers and community partners together to remember, inspire and commit to a world with No More Victims.
