MADD SC Begins New Court Monitoring Grants

MADD South Carolina is excited to be starting another year of our important Court Monitoring program in seven key counties.

Our project is now beginning Year Two of our work in Horry, Berkeley, and Charleston Counties. Due to the often lengthy time between arrest and final determination of the case, it may be some time before we have data to share. We would love to engage volunteers to monitor cases in court. Please reach out to [email protected] if you are interested.

We’re also happy to announce that we are starting a new three-year grant for Court Monitoring that will cover Richland, Lexington, Greenville, and Spartanburg Counties. Lexington and Spartanburg are new counties for us. For these areas, as well, we would love to engage volunteers. Please reach out to [email protected] if you are interested.

If you’d like to see the important report developed from our past court monitoring efforts, you can reach our report called A Lack of Conviction here. https://www.madd.org/south-carolina/wp-content/uploads/sites/40/2018/08/2018-SC-Court-Monitoring-Report-min.pdf
