MADD SC Speaks at Fort Jackson

MADD SC was honored to once again speak at Fort Jackson’s annual Alcohol Awareness Sessions. MADD SC staff members Chris Phillips and Kimberly Cockrell spoke to approximately 1000 service members as well as civilian staff concerning the dangers of impaired driving.  Chris talked about MADD’s mission as well as shared his previous experiences as a SC Highway Patrolman delivering death notifications to unsuspecting family members after impaired crashes.  Kimberly shared the story of losing her best friend Nancy Moore Thurmond in 1993 due to a drunk driving crash. Nancy was 2 weeks from graduating USC and going on to USC Law School.  MADD SC is grateful  for the service of our military and their family members.
