Walking for Safe Roads

WALKING FOR SAFE ROADS

REMEMBER, INSPIRE, COMMIT

Walk Like MADD & 5K DASH is a walk held throughout many cities in the United States to help end drunk driving. Participating in our walk and run in Southwest Florida can help put an end to the senseless crime of drunk, drugged and substance-impaired driving. Walk Like MADD & 5K DASH is the only community-based awareness and fundraising event that makes the elimination of substance-impaired driving possible.

On average two in three people are impacted by drunk driving in their lifetime. The funds raised in Southwest Florida stays in the community to help serve victims and survivors as well as prevention efforts. It also helps MADD volunteers and staff do many things. For example, provide emotional support to victims, support the heroes of law enforcement in our community, work with state and local legislators for enhanced laws and support the development of better technology to detect whether or not the driver is over the legal limit of .08.

Walk Like MADD & 5K DASH gives you the opportunity to do something about drunk driving in your community.

Walk Like MADD helps honor the victims of tragedies due to drunk, drugged and substance-impaired driving. Every year thousands are affected by tragedies of substance-impaired driving and this community based fund raising event is making the elimination of substance-impaired driving possible.

You can join MADD SWFL’s Walk Like MADD event September 30, 2017 at 8:00 am at JetBlue Park at Fenway South.

“Why we walk is important because it shows victims that they are not alone and that the community supports ending drunk driving to ensure there tragedy is not selective. It can happen to anyone. We have to become proactive so that it doesn’t.” – Malaina Mote
