Detective Alex Poston, Tennessee State Advisory Board Member

Detective Alex Poston has been with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office for more than 22 years. His career began as Reserve Deputy Sheriff in 1996 and a year later he was hired as a full-time Deputy Sheriff, completing the SCSO Training Academy in 1997. During his time at the Sheriff’s Office, Det. Poston has been assigned to five different divisions within the agency to include his current assignment in Narcotics and was an Associate Advisor for the SCSO Explorer Program. Det. Poston lives in Germantown, with his wife Nicole, and has three children. He is actively involved with his church and enjoys volunteering with his family at various school and community events.

Detective Poston serves on both the Law Enforcement and Legislative Committees.
