The annual National “Put the Brakes on Fatalities Day,” overseen by the Transportation & Development Institute (T&DI) of the The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), is meant to heighten consciousness about what people can do and what official steps they should take to reduce transportation fatalities and accidents on American highways, roads, and streets by calling attention to reducing fatalities on one specific day, and also with other traffic safety events held during the year.

Several agencies including MADD Tennessee, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office, Walk Bike Nashville, and Tennessee SADD will be participating in events and efforts to share messaging that provides Tennesseans with tips, resources, and other information to help them know how to stay safe on our roadways.
