MADD ongoing COVID-19 updates with Online Programming list

At MADD Tennessee, the health, safety, and experience of our victims, volunteers, customers, and employees is our top priority.  As we continue to monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we want to share essential actions we are taking in response to this rapidly evolving situation as we comply with recommendations set forth by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In-Person Victim Impact Panel (VIP) classes

MADD Tennessee is offering limited in-person VIP class opportunities as of March 2021.  Please click here for details on how to find the in-person VIP class nearest you.

Please carefully review additional information at the bottom of each location’s registration page regarding Covid-19 safety practices for in-person classes which are open for registration.

Please be advised that due to the evolving situation regarding COVID-19, we recommend you check our website on the day of your class, to verify it has not been rescheduled. If you have any questions, please contact the MADD Tennessee State office at 800-544-6233 or tn.state@madd.org.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this time.

All classes scheduled for Jan 1 – February 27, 2021 were rescheduled due to Covid-19.  Please click here for a detailed listing of 2021 rescheduled class information.

Click here for information regarding 2020 Victim Impact Panel cancellations.  If you were registered for a VIP class in 2020 and did not attend one of the in-person options offered to you or contact us in writing before 1/1/21 to request your pre-paid registration fees be applied to our Online VIP class, and you still need to complete your VIP requirement, you will need to re-register for an in-person class in 2021 or register/pay for the $50 Online VIP class.

All MADD Tennessee Victim/Survivor Support Groups will meet online, rather than in-person, beginning in April 2020 until further notice. Underage Drinking Prevention

Power of You(th)

We are now scheduling FREE in-person and Zoom presentations for our Power of You(th) program, dependent on each school’s preferences/local restrictions.  If you’re school is interested in having a MADD representative present live to your students or via Zoom, please contact us at tn.state@madd.org. 

 

Power of Parents

MADD Tennessee is currently offering FREE in-person or private Zoom Power of Parents presentations as well.  We offer free guidebooks and workshops to help you talk to your kids about the dangers of underage drinking and drugs.  The program also talks about teen stresses and how they can impact a teen’s decision to use alcohol and drugs as a coping mechanism.  Now is a good time to talk.  If you have a group interested in participating, email us at tn.state@madd.org to sign-up for these free tools and resources.

MADD is now offering online Power of Parents Workshops.

Court Monitoring

Courts may be seeing limited cases right now, but training for our court monitoring volunteers is in full swing! This opportunity is perfect for college students with majors in criminal justice, human services, psychology, social services, and pre-law.

We can conduct Online Court Monitoring Trainings via Zoom upon request.  Please contact jerice.glanton@madd.org if you are interested in attending an online Court Monitoring training.

Legislative Initiatives

MADD Tennessee was following several bills being reviewed for the 2020 legislative session which was interrupted due to the pandemic.  However, the Tennessee General Assembly has resumed activity for 2021.  Click here to see what MADD Tennessee is supporting/opposing for the 2021 session and how you can volunteer for our email campaign to support our continued legislative efforts in Tennessee.  Please follow us on our @MADDTennessee State Facebook page for continuing updates in legislation.

Night of Remembrance
The 2020 Tennessee Statewide Night of Remembrance and Awards Ceremony was cancelled.  However, a 2020 Virtual Tennessee Night of Remembrance was conducted on December 10, 2020, at 7pm CT.  Click here to watch the event on our MADD Tennessee Facebook page.
