Upper Cumberland Hosts 19th Annual Softball Tournament
The MADD Upper Cumberland Chapter in Cookeville, Tennessee, held their 19th Annual Men’s Church Softball Tournament on June 10, 2017, raising over $400 to benefit Mothers Against Drunk Driving. The event, held at the Cane Creek SportsPlex in Cookeville, hosted seven area teams in a good-spirited, fun, family event.
Second place winners were Trinity Assembly out of Cookeville (pictured above.)
In third, was Vine Branch Church from Cookeville and in fourth, was The River Church, also from Cookeville.
Cumberland Fellowship Church from Crossville, Dyllis Baptist Church from Harriman, and Life Church from Cookeville also joined in the fun!
Thank you to everyone who supported, volunteered, and/or participated in this event. Local victims appreciate the support of the community in recognizing the importance of the mission of MADD and in honoring and remembering their loved ones. “We have had strong support, not only from the Upper Cumberland area, but from as far away as Clarksville, Chattanooga, and even London, KY,” said organizer and MADD Victim/Volunteer, Norris Skelley. “While MADD Upper Cumberland uses the day to raise public awareness about the issue of impaired driving and raise dollars to help fund our work, we also use the day to reach out to victims of impaired driving…and almost always reach victims that have not previously served.”
Next year’s event is already being planned for June 9, 2018.
